Our 10 Most Anticipated Albums of 2021

#10. Migos – ‘Culture 3’ (TBA)

Just a couple of years ago Migos sat atop the hip-hop throne, but over the last year, my favorite current rap group has not released a great deal of music for various reasons. The trio has been teasing a follow-up to Culture 2 for months now, but so far, NO DICE! Here’s to seeing the third installment come into fruition sometime in 2021!

#9. Billie Eilish‘Happier Than Ever’ (Release Date: 7/30/2021)

Young phenom, Billie Eilish is one of the most successful crossover artists in the past decade. Her infectious rebel-like demeanor has garnered followers all around the globe. Hence, her debut album When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go? being certified 3X platinum. So to say her second official effort has been anticipated for quite a while now, would be an understatement!

#8. Cardi B – (TBA)

Cardi has had a pretty good 2021 so far. Her mega hit single “WAP” reached No.1 on the Billboard charts and her latest single “Up” didn’t do too shabby either. Even though there are rumors of a new album in the works, nothing has been solidified as of yet. And with a recent announcement of a new beauty line on the way, we can only hope she has time for more new music in store in the near future.

#7. J.Cole – ‘The Off Season’ (TBA)

J.Cole has had a busy year, and has been steadily teasing a new album in the process. With a solid fan following, Cole is known for being the king of mystery. As recent as last week, it was reported that the MC would be releasing his sixth studio album within “the next 2 weeks.” However, nothing has been confirmed. We’ll keep our fingers crossed! Cole the culture needs you.

#6. Jorja Smith – ‘Be Right Back’ (Release Date: 5/14/21)

UK songstress Jorja Smith may be one of the most underrated artists in the industry.  However, those that know Smith’s music are diehards. Including me! Why? Her sound is one of power and authenticity. She has not released a full solo album since 2018’s banger Lost&Found, but you can bet her loyals can’t wait for her latest project to drop. Yes!

#5. Drake – ‘Certified Lover Boy’ (TBA)

Drizzy a.k.a. Champagne Papi made some noise around a month ago dropping the surprise EP Scary Hours 2 in the wee hours of 2021’s All-Star weekend. Many assumed this was the prelude to his much anticipated upcoming effort Certified Lover Boy. However, an official date has yet to be announced. We’re hoping it’ll come as a signature Drake summer banger.

#4. Charlie Puth – ‘CP3’ (TBA)

Heartthrob crooner Charlie Puth has become a household name among millennial’s, soccer moms and college co-eds alike. Whether it’s his red-hot chart topping singles like “Attention” or lending vocals on Wiz Khalifa’s “See You Again”, Puth is smooth and as versatile as they come! And he is frequently on my Pandora list. With that being said, his third studio album CP3 is reportedly in the works, and we can’t wait to see what he brings next.

#3. Twenty One Pilots – ‘Scaled And Icy’ (Release Date: 5/21/21)

The “Heathens” hit-makers are finally back with some new music! If their latest single “Shy Away” is any indication of what’s to come on the new album, we should be excited! I mean hey, this group never seems to disappoint, right? So why would they now? Oh, and they are from my home state of O-H-I-O! Heeeeey now.

#2. Lizzo – (TBA)

The R&B star recently revealed during an Instagram Q&A that she has nearly completed working on her new album. This will be her second major label record, which is expected at some point this year. Longtime collaborators Ricky Reed and Oak, who worked on her massively successful record Cuz I Luv U, are back in the studio cooking up some more Lizzo greatness! CLUTCH.

#1. Maroon 5 Jordi (Release Date: 6/11/21)

Maroon 5 has been one of my favorite pop groups for a long time. Frontman Adam Levine recently revealed that their seventh studio album will be released this year, stating: “I’m going to tell you right now that the album’s done,” he told Apple Music radio. “And I can tell you it’s finished, I can tell you it’s been mastered, and I can tell you it’s been delivered, but I can’t tell you when it comes out. But it’s not far off, I’ll just say that.” There it IS!

Honorable Mentions: *Avril Lavigne, *Kendrick Lamar & *Gwen Stefani
