The Marshall Tucker Band is an American rock band from South Carolina known for incorporating blues, country, and jazz elements into their sound. The band also helped establish the “Southern rock” genre in the early 1970s. Today my dad and I (you read that right!) will be discussing their show from the ‘Through Hell and High Water…and Back Tour 2019.’ We talk about his experience seeing them live now compared to his college days, we discuss how The Marshall Tucker Band were way ahead of their time by breaking and bending genre barriers, and we discuss whether or not they should be eligible for the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.

David Rust a.k.a Dat Boy DOPE, D.O.P.E standing for “Defying Other People’s Expectations”, is an up-and-coming hip-hop artist from Long Island, New York. In my interview with David, we talk about the creation of his debut full-length album titled “Reroute” and we dive into the meaning behind certain songs off of the album. We also discuss why David chose to name the album “Reroute” and the inner workings of the music industry.
