Loote: Meet the Emotionally Charged Pop Duo

Emma Lov Block and Jackson Foote are the pop duo better known as Loote. The New York based duo have seen a massive surge of fans at shows, especially during recent times. Signed to Island Records, Loote is preparing to win the ears and hearts of fans across the world with pop music you can dance and cry to.

Jackson grew up in Boston, Massachusetts and moved to New York for school. Emma grew up in Manhattan, New York. She learned how to play the guitar and wrote several songs for children’s television. Both of the artists’ families encouraged them to be artistic from a young age, which prepared them to work in the music industry. In 2013, during a writing class, the two met each other and quickly after began writing music together. With the help of their professor, Carl Sturken, the duo formed and signed a deal with Universal Music. The two created their group name by combining their full names together.

Both of the artists worked on Cheat Code’s “No Promises” as songwriters. They also worked with popular artists like Mike Posner and Shawn Mendes. After working on a of couple songs, the two were motivated to start a venture of their own. This seemed to work well for them as they gained more attention as a duo than as songwriters.

“High Without Your Love” was the first single released by Loote. It peaked at number 23 on Billboard Spotify Velocity charts. The song was well received by many listeners as it continued to gain streams on music platforms. Following the success, Loote released “Out Of My Head”. The group’s debut EP, single scored over 150 million streams on the music platform Spotify within its first year. Released on June 15, 2018, the project included hit single, “Longer Than I Thought” featuring Joe Jonas.

Prompted by the success, the duo began to tour throughout America. Followed by their U.S. tour, Loote performed at Billboard 100 and Panaroma. Toward the end of the year, Loote published “Back Together” featuring Gnash and “Better When You’re Gone” featuring David Guetta and Brooks. Both of the non-album singles generated millions of streams on Spotify. Amid the buzz, the duo released their first EP lost in June 2019. Artists featured on the EP include Shawn Mendes and Gnash. lost has seven songs that share stories about being in love with someone. Filled with upbeat anthems, the pop EP touches on love, lust, pain, and moving on.

With the release of their latest single “All The F*cking Time,” Loote builds even more fan excitement and anticipation for the upcoming release of their third EP, expected to be released in 2020. Loote creates music for you to listen and turn to for the highs, lows and anything in-between. This dynamic pop duo have laid down the foundation to being well-known and appreciated in the music industry, and even so, everyone should continue to watch out for Loote in 2020 because their best is still yet to come.
