The Weeknd always brings some heat whether that is with his own projects or even as a feature. His latest release, Dawn FM, is loaded with perfect pop moments, and the album’s seamless, radio-inspired hits make Dawn FM an instant classic.

Gunna – DS4ever, released: January 7th

DS4Ever is the third studio album by rap’s latest superstar Gunna. It was released on January 7, 2022. The album features guest appearances from Future, Young Thug (which is currently a Top 10 single on Billboard charts), Kodak Black, Chlöe, Lil Baby, G Herbo, and Nechie. It’s the fourth and final installment of Gunna’s Drip Season series, following Drip Season 3 released in 2018.

Aaliyah – Unstoppable, to be released: Date TBA 2022

The incomparable R&B icon Aaliyah’s posthumous album, Unstoppable, is set to be released later this year. Producer and Uncle Barry Hankerson, issued a statement saying, “The body of work is pure hip-hop and R&B. Some of the people that Aaliyah liked are on the album. Thank you to all of her many fans for keeping Aaliyah’s music alive.” We eagerly wait whatever is to come, because anything from the late Aaliyah will be worth the wait.

2 Chainz – Dope Don’t Sell Itself, to be released: February 4th

2 Chainz took to social media at the end of last year to confirm his new album Dope Don’t Sell Itself will drop later next month. Dope Don’t Sell Itself will be the seventh studio album from Mr. Chainz, following his 2020 release, So Help Me God!

Avril Lavigne – Love Sux, to be released: February 25th

Avril Lavigne has announced the impending arrival of Love Sux, the singer’s seventh studio album expected on February 25th. Once dubbed the “Britney slayer” by Rolling Stone, Avril has captivated our pop-punk hearts for over two decades. Love Sux’s introductory single “Bite Me” is currently climbing the charts.

Dolly Parton – Run, Rose, Run, to be released: March 4th

The novel Run, Rose, Run is a collaboration with author James Paterson that was announced a few months ago, but now it’s been revealed that a new 12-song Run, Rose, Run album from Dolly Parton will also accompany the release. The twelve new original songs were written by Dolly Parton to coincide with the novel. It will be Dolly’s first album of original music in nearly five years. If there is an icon we’re always in the mood for, it’s definitely Dolly.

Jack White – Fear of the Dawn, to be released: April 8th & Entering Heaven Alive, to be released: July 22nd

Jack White will return in 2022 with a pair of new albums, Fear of the Dawn and Entering Heaven Alive. The “Seven Army Nation” and queen Beyonce collaborator will release separate albums this year, which seem to be totally different from each other. We’re always ready to rock with any Jack White riff.

Ye – Donda II, to be released: February 22nd

After delivering Donda last year, Ye has already begun creating the follow-up. If the artist formerly known as Kanye West sticks with the title, it’ll be the first time he’s released a sequel to one of his albums. Donda was dedicated to his late mother Donda West.

Mary J. Blige – Good Morning Gorgeous, to be released: February 11th

The Queen’s 14th album Good Morning Gorgeous will be released on February 11th, two days before Blige performs for the Super Bowl LVI halftime show. Ms. “No More Drama” said in a press release: “Working on this new album has been so much fun. I’m excited for my fans to hear these first two songs to give them a taste of what’s to come. I’m grateful to all my collaborators and partners who have walked with me through this process and even more grateful to my fans who I hope have a blast with this new music.

Ghostface Killah – Supreme Clientele 2, release: February 2022

Ghostface Killah has been whispering about a sequel to Supreme Clientele since last year. On September 25th 2021, the OG hopped on Reddit’s HipHopHeads forum and revealed when Supreme Clientele 2 will arrive and who’s executive producing it. “SUPREME CLIENTELE 2 IS EXECUTIVE PRODUCED BY: KANYE WEST, MIKE DEAN & PRODUCERPLUGUNI.COM,” he wrote from his own account. “RELEASE DATE: FEB 2022.”
