Jaden Hossler, also known as Jxdn, is a singer and TikTok star that is gaining music popularity. Jaden’s experiences with depression and attempts of suicide gave him a unique perspective on life. He is using his social media platform and music to spread messages about overcoming hardship whether it’s relationships, destructive habits, or outside forces.
Jaden was born in Dallas, Texas on February 8, 2001. When he was 14-years-old, his family moved to Chattanooga, Tennessee. In high school, he felt like an awkward outsider and struggled to figure out his place in the world. In 2018, Jaden took to the internet to express himself. He began releasing content that was catchy and fun to look at. As Jaden consistently released streams, he gained traction on the platform. Jaden joined the social media group “Sway House” to create content with other social media stars. With millions of followers watching Jaden’s moves, the youngster found another avenue to express himself.
After attending a Juice WRLD concert, Jaden discovered his passion for creating music. “Comatose” was the first single released in March 2020 under his stage name Jxdn. The song reflects on Jaden’s feelings after leaving an ex. The debut single generated millions streams over music platforms. Travis Barker from Blink-182 started the label DTA Records and sought Jxdn as his first artist signed to the label after hearing “Comatose.”
The song “Angels & Demons” is a gritty anthem about someone battling the positive and negative forces in their head. Jaden explores some of the struggles he had faced dealing with drugs and drinking. The music video premiered on YouTube in May 2020. In this short period of time, it has gained over 26 million views on that platform alone.
“So What” is a punk song influenced by a toxic breakup with an ex. Released in June 2020, the track features Travis Barker on the drums. The upbeat, emotionally driven track made its way onto popular rock playlists on Spotify.“Pray” is a song about Jaden’s battle with depression. The song seeks to connect with people that struggle with depression, suicide, or other mental health issues. The song conceptually goes from thoughts of death to overcoming death. The artist hopes to build greater messages of love, forgiveness and overcoming hardships.
Jxdn has shown in his personal life and as his outlet through his music that pain is a prominent part of life, but it doesn’t have to be a destructive part. Overarching tones of togetherness through grief can be felt in the songs that have been released by the artist so far. With someone as talented as Travis Barker behind him, Jxdn is gearing up for a bright future in the music industry.
