Known for her high-profile guest appearances, 070 Shake has created hip-hop music for a new generation of listeners. While new to the music scene, 070 Shake keeps true to her feelings and the highs and lows of life. The artist utilizes her creativity through artistic expression. Danielle Balbuena was born on June 13, 1997 in North Bergen, New Jersey. Danielle started professionally going by 070 Shake because of her affiliation with the music collective 070. Artists that are a part of the collective are routed from New Jersey’s zip code. The 070 Collective has roughly 11 members.

In 2015 Shake began releasing music. “Proud” and “Swervin” were the first two tracks that were released on SoundCloud. By the following year, the artist had hundreds of thousands of streams on the music-streaming platform. 070 Shake caught the attention of promoter and personality, YesJulz. Later that same year, 070 released “Trust Nobody.” She also collaborated with 070 Collective members to produce the track “Honey,” featuring Hack, Ralphy River, and Tree. The track gained massive attention from listeners and music charts.

In 2016, 070 Shake signed to Kanye West’s label, G.O.O.D Music. At the end of the year, the musician opened shows for The 1975. Performing with the band brought even more attention to 070 Shake. 070 Shake began a headline tour in April 2017. The artist also modeled for the fashion brand Gypsy Sport in their fall runway show. In March 2018, 070 released her six-track Glitter EP. The songs revolve around dark thoughts she dealt with and how she figured it out. A couple of months later, 070 was featured on Pusha T’s “Santeria.” She also made appearances on Kanye West’s Ye album. 070 Shake’s standout vocals on “Ghost Town” helped her to gain a broader audience of listeners.

In 2019, 070 Shake was featured on DJ Khaled’s “Holy Mountain” featuring Buju Banton, Sizzla, and Movado. On January 17, 2020, the artist released her debut album Modus Vivendi. While the tracks are lyrically heavy and dark, the melodies of the music have an upbeat tone that creates an intense contrast to the album. Whether the blissful “Daydreaming” or the hard-hitting “Guilty Conscience”, Modus Vivendi is made to create a sense of comfort for listeners throughout the 14-tracks.

As the young artist searches to find a sense of herself, she battles with the themes of self-esteem, sexuality, love, and depression in her music. 070 Shake uses her music as an expressive outlet that helps her to deal with life circumstances. The artist combines her love for R&B, hip-hop, and rock into interesting ways that connects with listeners across the world.
