Singer-songwriter Jon Bellion produces original music and mixtapes that blend the genres for the contemporary music lover. He’s a different type of celebrity that seeks to shine for his authentic self instead of what others expect. His ability to layer multiple genres and instrumentation together to create a unique sound has set him apart from many in the industry.

Born in Long Island, New York, Bellion began pursuing music during junior year of high school. After graduation, he enrolled at Long Island’s Five Towns College to study music. Bellion focused on writing music and started working under someone at 19-years-old. After working under Kara DioGuardi at Warner Brothers A&R, Jon was able to write music for different genres. Growing up, Jon was exposed to different types of music and they have actively played a role in his creation today. He draws influence from artists like Kayne West, J Dilla, Pharrell Williams, and Coldplay. Bellion loves hip-hop, R&B, indie rock, and reggae.

Bellion’s first mixtape, Scattered Thoughts Vol. 1 was released in 2011. The project gained online notoriety and propelled him to create further music related projects. Bellion later signed to Visionary Music Group and continued writing music. 2013 was Jon Bellion’s breakout year in music. He gained global attention with his song, “The Monster” on Eminem’s Marshall Mathers LP2. The track became number one on the Billboard 200 in the U.S. Bellion also co-wrote Jason Derulo’s “Trumpets” that was released in the United Kingdom then United States.

Bellion released his second mixtape, Translation Through Speakers in February 2013. Later that year, he followed up with The Separation mixtape. In September of 2014, Bellion released his fourth mixtape titled, The Definition. “Simple and Sweet” and “Human” were both hits that garnered a larger following for the artist. The following year, Bellion released “All Time Low.” U.S. Billboard’s Hot 100 listed the single at number sixteen. The track collected millions of streams in time for his debut album, The Human Condition. Released under Capitol Records on June 10, 2016, the album debuted at number five on the Billboard 200. It was wildly received by many people for its electro-beats and ethereal vocals. Elements of Christian belief and thoughts on society are spread throughout the album as Bellion shares his perspective on what it means to be human.

In October 2018, Jon Bellion shared “Conversations with My Wife.” He teased the release of a new album with two other singles “JT” and “Stupid Deep.” The full-length sophomore effort, Glory Sound Prep, was released on November 9, 2018. The album steps away from the electro-pop style that garnered many of his fans and infuses more R&B vibes into his sound. Glory Sound Prep showcases Bellion’s growth as a creative musician. In the self-produced 10-tracks, he brings distinct instrumentation and lyrical content to music that defies what a pop artist is.

In his short time in the artist spotlight, Jon Bellion has stayed humble and true to his passionate craft. The genre-bending artist set a creative goal and kept true to it. With several successful musical projects under his belt, Jon Bellion is producing his own path to success.
